During the night from Sunday to Monday, June 24, a pipe broke in the basement of the Pyrénées clinic in Colomiers, near Toulouse. Despite the water damage, the establishment operates completely normally today.

“It’s more fear than harm,” assured this Monday, June 24, Martin Pinel, president of the Pyrénées clinic in Colomiers, near Toulouse. During the night from Sunday to Monday, a pipe broke in the basement of the establishment, around 4 a.m. Over several hundred square meters of surface area in the women’s locker room and technical rooms, three firefighters intervened to pump the water, using a specialized vehicle. “This incident near the technical premises which manage air conditioning, hot water and heating, had no impact on our patients who were able to benefit from completely normal conditions this Monday morning,” explained the president. .

Minor damage

Although the residents of the clinic were not impacted, some damage can still be reported, even if it is of lesser importance. “We will probably have to change a door in the basement,” continued Martin Pinel. “Given what needs to be changed, I am not even sure I will contact the insurance company to be compensated.”

Cut off in the middle of the night, electricity was quickly restored on Monday. Concerning the staff, they were able to use their locker rooms again. It now remains to be seen whether the pipe ruptured due to natural wear or a manufacturing defect. An internal investigation is underway to lift the veil on this subject.
