Saint-Mandé Gate and Little Belt

For the City of Paris’ bid for the 2024 Olympic Games, the French Hiking Federation has set up the latest long-distance hiking trail, the GR75, which goes around Paris on foot, through its Olympic and sporting history. 50 kilometers long, it goes around the city from its exteriors, crosses 9 peripheral districts of Paris and gives you a glimpse of another Paris. France 3 Paris Île-de-France lets you discover this new hike through nine episodes.

After crossing La Villette, the discovery of the GR75 continues from the Porte de Saint-Mandé. HAS From the Geroges-Vallerey swimming pool, the goal is to take the Petite Ceinture to reach the Porte Dorée. To walk on this abandoned railway line, simply find one of its hidden entrances in the 12th arrondissement, at the end of the Villa du Bel Air road, and thus bypass the neighborhood on a path surrounded by trees.

32 kilometers long, the Petite Ceinture is well known to Parisians but often forgotten during walks. However, it is one of the only historical routes that allows you to discover the past of transport in the Paris region before arriving at one of the most beautiful gates of Paris: La Porte Dorée.

In the third episode, the GR75 takes us to the Bois de Vincennes and to find the entire route, go to france.tv/idf
