The French elite championships began this Friday, June 28 in Angers. In total, six Loir-et-Chériens are in the running with different ambitions. On this first day, there were four competing.

Dilasser top 8

The first to show up this Friday is Maël Dilasser from AJ Blois-Onzain in the javelin. The hopeful thrower is taking part in his first elite French championships, after a complicated season.

Indeed, the Blois native is returning from a winter season marked by mononucleosis which prevented him from preparing properly. “I lost a bit of feeling but in recent months I’ve been getting back into shape, explains Maël Dilasser. I’m on a regular cycle of good performance.”

So much so that for this first experience in the elite, he takes away “only positive”. “I qualified in last position (12th), it was both comfortable and uncomfortable. I couldn’t do worse.” His goal before the start of the competition was to reach the top 8 and ” it’s done “.

The Blésois finished 8e of the javelin competition with a throw of 61.86 m. A good performance for Maël Dilasser who will participate in the France Espoir in Albi on July 22. “I am slowly but surely getting closer to my hopeful competitors,” the pitcher rejoices. Just like his trainer Daniel Aubry: “Until now, he was far from the podiums but he can consider one in Albi”.

Bourgoin in the final

In the middle distance, Vendômoise Anaïs Bourgoin also took the start. Over 800 m, the one who finished 3e of the last European championships in the 800 m and achieved the Olympic minimum, qualified without any problem for the final (this Saturday, June 29 at 7:40 p.m.). Indeed, Anaïs Bourgoin, licensed in Franconville (Val-d’Oise), finished 1re of his series in 2’03”26 and 3e overall, just behind Renelle Lamote.

The Romorantinais Baptiste Guyon, in good shape at the moment, was entered in the 5,000 m. Alongside headliners Yann Schrub and Hugo Hay, he finished 9e in 13’51”28. The AC Romorantin athlete who switched from the 3,000 m steeplechase to the 5,000 m hoped for a little better from France since he was aiming for a top 5. He is also far from his best time of 13’28” (the June 15 in Heusden-Zolder in Belgium). Let us remember, however, that this was the first time Baptiste Guyon competed at this distance in a major competition.

A record for Manaresi

Finally, the last to show up this Friday is Marion Manaresi. The AC Romorantin walker had a complicated season, marked by the preparation of her EPS Capes and approached the competition without too many benchmarks. We must believe that the Romorantinaise was in good shape since she finished at the foot of the podium, 4e in 47’02”73. She thus beats her personal record and concludes this first day in style for Loir-et-Cher.
