A three-way race and two duels in the Var on Sunday July 7, which are the three constituencies where everything could still be decided?

A three-way race and two duels in the Var on Sunday July 7, which are the three constituencies where everything could still be decided?

In Var, where the National Rally won seven of the eight constituencies during the 2022 legislative elections, five RN deputies were elected or re-elected in the first round, the others finishing quite well in the lead.

These are Philippe Schreck in the eighth constituency, Franck Giletti in the 6th, Julie Lechanteux in the 5th, Philippe Lottiaux in the 4th and Laure Lavalette in the 2nd.

In the first constituency, which covers the city of Toulon, Sébastien Soulé is for example in a favorable vote against the deputy Ensemble! outgoing Yannick Chenevard. We take stock of the three constituencies where a second round will take place.

A three-way race in the 1st constituency of Var?

In the 1st constituency of Var, which includes a large part of the commune of Toulon, Sébastien Soulé (National Rally) therefore came first in the first round of the legislative elections this Sunday, June 30, with more than 42% of the votes.

In the second round, the former police officer from the Marseille North BAC will face the outgoing MP Yannick Chenevard (Ensemble!), who received nearly 31% of the vote, as well as the candidate of the New Popular Front, Eric Habouzit, who obtained around 22%.

The second round could either lead to a three-way race, or to a duel if the NFP candidate were to withdraw. The latter is expected to hold a press conference on Monday, July 1, to announce his decision.

3rd constituency: a Rambaud-Monfort duel like in 2022… or almost

Outgoing MP Stéphane Rambaud came out on top this Sunday, June 30. But the former RN police commissioner will need a second round against Isabelle Monfort (Horizons) to continue to sit in the National Assembly.

Finding herself third, Julia Peironet-Brémond did not even wait for the final results to announce her withdrawal. With 18.46% of the votes cast, but only 12.43% of those registered, she would not have been able to stay in anyway due to a handful of missing ballots.

It is therefore Isabelle Monfort, who, with Edouard Philippe on her posters, will once again have to face Stéphane Rambaud next Sunday.

7th constituency: RN and Together! in a duel on Sunday

RN candidate Frédéric Boccaletti obtained 48.30% of the votes this Sunday, June 30, while the candidate of the presidential majority (Together!) Cécile Muschotti collected 18.53% of the votes.

As a reminder, the 7th constituency includes the cantons of Saint-Mandrier-sur-Mer, La Seyne-sur-Mer, Six-Fours-les-Plages, communes of Sanary-sur-Mer and Bandol.
