The Mediterranean League has confirmed to us that the merger between Aubagne, Huveaune and Air Bel will not take place this season.

As we indicated when Aubagne was banned from joining the National League, the merger with the clubs of La Penne-sur-Huveaune and Air Bel had not been validated by the Mediterranean League. The regional body had explained to us that documents were missing. The clubs had until July 1 to provide them. But there was a dramatic turn of events this Saturday. The meeting of the three Provençal clubs was abandoned!

What impact could this have on Aubagne FC’s appeal to the DNCG? “The Air Bel club’s balance sheet has not been merged with ours, administrative documents are missing, Lionel Jeanningros, the Aubagnais president, said in La Provence. We now know the problem, we know what we need to work on and we will do everything to bring the missing pieces to the file. And, we are optimistic about the outcome. »

Except that this merger will not take place. Between the accounts to be flattened, the organization charts to be set up, the clubs were also facing a revolt from parents from Aubagne. While the contribution had increased from 200 to 350 euros last year because of financial problems, they feared a new increase. Now time is running out for the Aubagne leaders who will be before the DNCG appeal committee this week.
