Jan Vertonghen was already unhappy, but Kylian Mbappé did not hesitate to add another layer. If the Real Madrid striker did not have a great match against Belgium (1-0), Monday 1is July, he largely celebrated the only goal of the Blues in the last minutes and the qualification for the quarter-finals of Euro 2024.

Mbappé annoyed by Vertonghen

The French team’s goal was scored by Belgian defender Jan Vertonghen against his own net by deflecting a cross from Randal Kolo Muani into his own net. Just after, Kylian Mbappé rushed to see Vertonghen to whisper a few words in his ear, before going to rejoice with his teammates.

This rant would stem from an altercation a few minutes earlier between the two men. At the 70e minute, the star of the Blues, launched into the surface, stumbled on the 37-year-old veteran before falling to the ground, hitting the legs of Jan Vertonghen. Kylian Mbappé did not appreciate this sequence at all and the two players had already exchanged a few words at that point.
