Chartrestivales starts this Friday!

It’s here – officially! – summer. This Friday will see the start of Chartrestivales, the highly anticipated event for all those who want to listen to free concerts during the two months of vacation.

For thirty-two years, it has been an unmissable summer event in the city center of Chartres. For two months, the Chartrestivales association offers free shows – concerts, theater – that set the mood at a time when everyone is on vacation. The program begins this Friday, with the concert of the group Easypop. Here is what awaits you by theme.

1/ The tributes

These are moments that are always eagerly awaited by the public. The “tribute bands”, groups that cover the greatest hits of artists from the past, have taken up a lot of space in the programming for several years. There have been tributes to Johnny Hallyday, Supertramp, and even Jean-Jacques Goldman… This edition is no exception to the rule.

And this will be the case from the first concert, that of Easypop this Friday. The group will cover, at Place Châtelet, the great standards of classic-rock: ZZ Top, Rod Stewart, David Bowie, etc…

But that’s not all. On July 19, the Funky Family will look back at the career of the explosive Queen of Soul, Tina Turner.
The following week, on July 26, the trio Back to the Police will return to Chartres to perform the many songs that revealed Sting. Every breath you take, So lonely, Message in a bottle…All the big pieces will be there.

On August 10, other comebacks will appear at Place Châtelet: Help!, a tribute to the Beatles that had already set the city alight with very dynamic covers of the Fab Four. A week later, on August 17, D’Eux will pay a vibrant tribute to the world of Céline Dion.

2/ Festive music

As the president of the organizing association, Lucien Roger, often says, partying always works. And that will be proven on the second date, with the return, on July 6, of 007LTE and their Celtic style that always delights the public. A few days later, on July 9, Volante Loco will set the mood with their explosive songs.

On August 2, the Gascons of Grains de sel will carry the spectators until the end of the night! As for the group that will give the penultimate concert of the season, on August 23, its name – Joyeux Bordel – will set the tone for the evening!
