Josette Vignat has spent her entire professional career in the hotel and catering industry, notably managing the Château-Perrache hotel in Lyon and is involved in several regional tourism bodies.

She was previously already a member of the Rotary Lyon-Nord and when she retired, living in Morancé, she wanted to move to the Rotary Villefranche to stay in the Beaujolais region where she is very involved in the associative world: elected president of Atouts Beaujolais, the network of professional players in Beaujolais tourism, she is also a member of the board of directors of Destination Beaujolais and that of the Friends of the Beaujolais Geopark.

She is delighted to present a year 2024/2025 which promises to be very busy: “The Rotary Villefranche is very well structured, it organizes locally the Wine Fair in Arnas the last weekend of March, a geotour where sick children and their siblings are invited to take a ride in Beaujolais in beautiful old cars brought together for the occasion, but also our now traditional sale of the most expensive oranges in France, to raise funds for the most deprived”, lists the new president.

The person who takes over from Denis Chilliet wants to make her own personal contribution to the building, “with two themes that are close to my heart: support for associations that fight against violence against women, and support for animal therapy activities such as training guide dogs or the reintegration of prisoners using horses. We are also setting up a partners club to highlight the companies and associations that support our Rotarian members, financially and logistically, without which our volunteers would not be able to carry out all these actions.”

The Rotary club of Villefranche also participates in actions proposed by the regional district, which brings together 51 clubs including the four in the department, as well as actions carried out by Rotary International in the four corners of the planet, in particular to promote peace, fight against illiteracy and poverty, provide access to drinking water and sanitation, combat diseases and protect the environment.

© HR Denis Chilliet and Josette Vignat welcome Franck Pelissier and Alexis Velter, 2 new members to the Caladois Rotary club.

The Rotary de Villefranche is open to all people who share the values and local, national and international actions of Rotary and welcomes new members upon co-option of its members.
