The Max platform announced that the series Harry Potter had found the right match in terms of direction and screenplay. And these are precisely big names, having notably worked on the multi-awarded series Succession. Soon a crossover on the Roy and Malfoy families?

In a press release sent this Wednesday, June 26, the platform announced the names of those who will have the (very) heavy task of bringing to life on the small screen the characters and intrigues imagined by JK Rowling in her now legendary literary saga. Mark Mylod, known for having worked on Succession, Game of Thrones et The Last of Us, will act as executive producer but also director on several episodes.

And to write the script for this adaptation, which has been awaited for many years, HBO has chosen to trust Francesca Gardiner, who has already proven herself with Succession, Killing Eve or His Dark Materials, adaptation of another successful literary series by writer Philip Pullman, The Northern Kingdoms.

On X, the author ofHarry Potter was delighted with these two receipts, affirming in passing that they dedicated “ a true passion » to the literary saga. “ I’m sure the series will more than live up to expectations. “, she says, after speaking with Francesca Gardiner and Mark Mylod.

The “Harry Potter” series on the lips of all muggles

Published between 1997 and 2007, the saga includes seven volumes, translated into nearly 80 languages. It was adapted for cinema between 2001 and 2011. In 2016, the author wrote a sequel in the form of a play entitled Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. A piece that has since played to sold-out audiences. It also gave birth to a video game which has sold millions of copies, Howgarts Legacy.

The future series Harry Potter has been on the lips of almost all Muggles since it was announced in April 2023. It will faithfully retrace the adventures of Harry, Hermione, Ron, Dumbledore and company, notably facing Voldemort, Snape and Umbridge. , during their seven years of study at Hogwarts.

The names of the actors who will be chosen to play them, and the date the series will be put online on the Max platform, are however still unknown. But the good news is that this gives us plenty of time to perfect our Quidditch.
