The Plage Sud shopping center rises from its ashes

While a fire had partially ravaged several businesses in the Plage Sud shopping center, their reconstruction is now complete and it is a sigh of relief that owners and operators breathe as they face the summer season. This shopping center was built in 1978 on the initiative of the Lombard-Alberto families, managers of the SCI Plage Sud. From the beginning, this commercial center was made up of 15 businesses, mainly food, supplemented by a mini-market and a night club. This commercial offer has not changed over the years. It was on April 13, 2023 that a fire broke out, devastating 6 businesses including 5 restaurants and a bakery. This disaster obviously prevented their operation during the 2023 season. But managers and owners mobilized the day after the fire so that the reconstruction of the premises would be completed before the start of the 2024 season. In the space of 7 months, thanks to the intervention of the town hall, the insurer and especially the companies that worked non-stop to complete the project, the shops were able to open their doors at the beginning of May. If the surface areas of the establishments remained the same, the architects took advantage of this to create a more design dynamic for the buildings, this complemented by exterior developments of the Mediterranean and Camargue style terraces, on the beach side.
