A photovoltaic panel caught fire on the roof of a 3,000 m2 agricultural building, in Saint-Gouéno, commune of Mené, between Loudéac and Lamballe (Côtes-d’Armor). The fire was declared late in the morning, this Friday, June 28, 2024. An area of ​​20 m2 was charred, even though the building housed sheep.

A fire broke out on the roof of a farm building housing sheep, late in the morning, this Friday, June 28, 2024, in the place called Les Pêchières, in Saint-Gouéno, a commune in Mené, in Côtes-d’Armor.

One of the photovoltaic panels installed on the roof of the agricultural building caused the fire. The animals were able to be evacuated and no animal losses were reported.

The owner alone contained the start of the fire

The owner of the premises acted quickly using a fire extinguisher to contain the start of the fire which seriously damaged the building.

Sixteen firefighters from the Lamballe (Côtes-d’Armor) and Grâce-Uzel (Côtes-d’Armor) brigades intervened to extinguish the fire, which charred an area of ​​20 m2 of the building that housed sheep.
