Chassis, connections, screen of the Asus Vivobook 17X N3704VA-AU116W

With its relatively thin and light Transparent Silver robust aluminum design, this versatile laptop has a simple and elegant appearance and complies with the American military ruggedness standard MIL-STD-810H.

This multimedia-oriented laptop offers good wired connectivity with its USB-C, its practical HDMI video output for easy connection to a TV or monitor for example, its audio port without forgetting its 3 USBs including 2 USB 3.0 (compatible with USB 2.0) providing transfers up to 10 times faster than USB 2.0 if USB 3.0 peripherals are connected to it.
While the presence of Bluetooth 5.1 is appreciable, that of Wi-Fi 5 ac is much less so for connecting remotely wirelessly since it is an old standard inferior in terms of performance to the more recent Wi-Fi 6(E) ax expected under this type of computer.

As a biometric reader is integrated, biometric authentication is possible under this Ultrabook via Windows Hello technology.

When you have difficulty discerning the chiclet keyboard, you can activate its key backlighting system.

The screen adopts classic characteristics for a 17 inch, adapted to Full HD content such as videos thanks to its 16:9 format.
Its viewing angles, both horizontal and vertical, are important due to its IPS technology, however not high-end since the colorimetry is standard here.
As it is anti-reflective, the screen is more readable than a shiny panel in a bright environment (e.g. outdoors) while being less tiring for the eyes over a long period of time.

Performance, autonomy of the Asus Vivobook 17X N3704VA-AU116W

The Asus Vivobook 17X N3704VA-AU116W targets those who wish to equip themselves with a large format versatile laptop with high performance in terms of multimedia-oriented processor.

Demanding users will be delighted with the good overall power provided by this Ultrabook equipped with 16 GB of RAM and an Intel Raptor Lake Core i9-13900H processor with 14 hybrid cores and integrated Iris Xe graphics module.

Since processing is much faster with this core than with 8GB DDR4/5 and a classic Quad/Hexa Core, creators will appreciate it.
The difference is even more noticeable in areas that require a lot of RAM and CPU resources and take advantage of multi-cores, such as video editing or photo retouching.

There is no graphical acceleration of processing here, however, since no dedicated graphics card is included.
All graphics are handled by the Iris Xe graphics module inserted into the Core i9. In concrete terms, you can view photos and videos, but also play light games.

Asus obviously entrusts the storage to an SSD, here with a high capacity of 1000 GB able to accommodate quantities of software and files including why not a personal production.

Remember that an SSD provides much better fluidity and responsiveness on a daily basis than a hard drive since it is much faster. As a bonus, it offers the advantage of being silent, less energy-consuming and more shock-resistant.

In practice, startups/shutdowns, processing and launching applications are faster with an SSD than with a hard drive, and you can reach online game maps faster.

Finally, if it is relatively thin and light for a 17-inch, this large format is not the most nomadic by nature. The autonomy is established at around 5 hours on battery in light use for this versatile laptop which heats up and is heard when it is pushed hard (e.g.: treatments).
To limit its temperatures, it can be combined with a ventilated support if necessary (remember to check the dimensions carefully!).
