This Friday, July 5, between 7 p.m. and midnight, the eighth edition of the dîner en blanc will be held, Place des Lices in Vannes. Organized by the federation of downtown merchants, Cœur de Vannes, the event is inspired by the famous dîners en blancs of Saint-Tropez by Eddie Barclay. “People need to remember that it’s a big, friendly neighborhood party, while sharing a chic evening in white,” explains Benoît Lamant, coordinator of Cœur de Vannes. The event is free and without reservation, the only conditions are to come with your tables, chairs, cutlery, good food and of course a white outfit because “who says dîner en blanc says come in white,” smiles Benoît Lamant.
A competition
The evening will be punctuated by various activities. “We want to bring together the traders we represent as well as the inhabitants of the Vannes region,” explains the coordinator. For the occasion, a gift voucher worth €100, to be spent at the traders in the city center of Vannes, will be up for grabs. A DJ will also be present to entertain the participants as well as a photo booth to immortalize this moment of conviviality. In order to guarantee the safety of the guests, two anti-intrusion vehicles and a traffic order are planned from 7 p.m. to midnight around the Place des Lices. Consequently, the Lices car park will not be accessible.
