According to information from Europe 1, acts targeting the Jewish community have increased by 73% since the beginning of 2024 compared to the previous year. An anti-Semitism that is illustrated through acts of violence, but also through tags hostile to the Jewish community.

This is a very worrying phenomenon, but one that seems to be becoming commonplace in society. According to information from Europe 1, the explosion of anti-Semitism is confirmed. Acts targeting the Jewish community have increased by 73% since the beginning of 2024 compared to the previous year, according to Intelligence. On average, each month, around a hundred anti-Semitic acts have been recorded since the beginning of the year. These attacks have increased in recent weeks, with an explosion last June during which 191 reports were made.

Increasingly violent attacks

Anti-Semitism is illustrated in particular through acts of violence. Last month, 14 attacks were recorded, more than double the number recorded in the first five months of the year. Increasingly violent attacks, such as the anti-Semitic rape of a 12-year-old girl in Courbevoie.

Tags are not left out since Intelligence noted a 14% increase in inscriptions targeting the Jewish community last June compared to the same period in 2023. These anti-Semitic acts, already on the rise since the Hamas terrorist attack on Israel on October 7, have therefore accelerated in recent weeks, particularly in the run-up to the European elections.

Racism towards the Jewish community, encouraged by the positions taken by some political parties and by the behavior of their candidates, some of whom are already or could be elected as deputies and therefore bring this anti-Semitism to the National Assembly.
