Another big step in the new life of RC Vannes: promoted to the Top 14 next season, the Bretons will now know, this Tuesday, July 2, their opponents for the European Challenge, the “small” European Cup.
The draw for the groups will take place this Tuesday at noon, in Cardiff, Wales. The 18 clubs will be divided into three groups of six. RCV is one of the six French representatives, with Pau, Lyon, Perpignan, Bayonne and Montpellier.
Irish, South African and Georgian opponents
Jean-Noël Spitzer’s men could also meet the English from Gloucester and Newcastle Falcons, the Scottish from Edinburgh, the Welsh from Ospreys, Cardiff, Scarlets and Dragons RFC, the Irish from Connacht, the Italians from Zebre Parma, or even the South Africans from Lions and Cheetahs. A Georgian club, Black Lion, is also invited this season.
