Matthis Abline is back. The 21-year-old striker, loaned last season to the Canaries and for whom Rennes had activated its buyout clause (2 million euros) at the end of May while Nantes offered 6 million euros in transfer, is now permanently from Nantes. It is the biggest purchase in the club’s history. Abline signed on for 4 years.

The transfer is in the order of €10 million, plus bonuses. Everything accelerated late Friday afternoon when FCN had made a purchase offer a few days ago.

Matthis Abline was THE attacking priority for Canaries coach Antoine Kombouaré. As a reminder, the striker trained at SRFC (contract until 2026) had played 22 matches in Nantes last season, scoring 5 goals. He had been one of the big satisfactions of the end of the Nantes season. Abline was engaged until mid-June with the France U20 team at the Maurice-Revello tournament, where he had distinguished himself.
