The week dedicated to discovering the profession of childminder attracted many people, keen to learn about this booming profession. This Monday, November 18, a forum was organized in Saint-Jean-du-Falga to launch this initiative, mobilizing the entire early childhood sector. in the presence of Alain Rochet, president of the community of communes, Portes d'Ariège (CCPAP), Lucie Vigier, deputy director of the Caf de l'Ariège, underlined the challenges of this profession lacking manpower work, in particular with a third of the department's childminders who are over 50 years old. As for its first edition which had already welcomed many visitors, many young women in particular came to find out. The profession offers interesting prospects, with a growing need in this sector which promotes employment, particularly for women, and contributes to the attractiveness of the region. Among the activities, participants were able to discover awareness-raising initiatives, such as welcoming the Giant House® or sensory awareness workshops.
