After three stages of around 200 kilometres each, the peloton crosses the Alps on Tuesday with a day of 139 kilometres of effort. The peloton leaves Italy and Pinerolo to enter France and arrive in Valloire. Obviously, even if the distance is shorter than the other days, the difficulty of this stage should put the riders’ bodies to the test.
The Col du Galibier welcomes cyclists to France
The day after the historic victory of the Eritrean Biniam Girmay Hailu, the stage will start with a false flat of around 40 kilometers, which will end with the ascent of the famous Italian summit of Sestriere. Then, it is the Col de Montgenèvre (8.2 km at 6%) which will stand before the runners before arriving in France. The Col du Galibier will await them to widen the gaps in the general classification.
