WUSHU: A young person from the Amiens Center for Chinese Martial Arts & Energy shines abroad

This weekend, Léandre Wichmann, a resident of the Amiens Center for Chinese Martial Arts & Energy, was in Switzerland for the Swiss Wushu Open. Entered in three events, he won three gold medals.

Léandre Wichmann represented the Amiens Center for Chinese Martial Arts & Energy this weekend in Switzerland for his last international competition of the season. Organized by the Green Lion Kung-fu school, theswiss wushu open 2024 took place in Gossau ZH, over two days, June 22 and 23. The competition was open to all wushu schools around the world and included traditional and modern Taolu events, as well as Sanda (fighting) and Qingda (children’s fighting) events. Léandre participated in the three Modern Taolu events and won the three gold medals in the categories: Changquan (bare hand) with the score of 9.06, Daoshu (sabre) with the score of 9.51, Gunshu (staff) with the score of 9.11.

Kindly invited by the “Zhong Hua Wu Shu Guan” school, Léandre Wichmann stayed in Bern for an additional week to share training with the athletes of the Swiss school under the direction of Xiaojuan Xie, a high-level professional athlete in China, Chinese champion several times and coach of the Swiss national wushu team from 1996 to 1999.

  • THE WORLD TAI CHI CHAMPIONSHIPS in Singapore from August 21 to 28: 3 Club Athletes will participate in the event
  • THE JUNIOR WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS in Bandar Seri Begawan capital from September 22 to 30, 2024: 2 Athletes from the club selected to participate in the competition
