The industrial contractor Boccard, which has a site in Le Coteau, is in full development, driven by the nuclear and renewable energy sectors in particular. After signing a contract with Siemens Energy at the end of the year, another major partnership has just been concluded. Synonymous with hiring and a new workshop in Roannais.

A few days ago, for a morning, around twenty students and job seekers were welcomed into the Costello premises of Boccard Process Vessels (company in the Boccard network of companies). Objective: to present to them the group’s activities, its businesses and its infrastructures. The interior designer is indeed looking for his future talents…

To respond to the growth of its activity, Boccard will strengthen its teams in Roannais, and is recruiting around twenty employees: specialized profiles such as fitters, boilermakers, welders but also project managers and quality managers, who the group will bring up in skills through internal and external training. “What we are looking for are rigorous, careful and motivated people,” explains Francisque Demeure, BPV Business Unit Manager.During the morning presentation. This recruitment follows the signing of new contracts in the field of renewable energies and nuclear power, in which Boccard has been a major player for more than 50 years. An important partnership has just been signed for nuclear power (the name of the client remains unknown) for which the Roannais teams will bring all their expertise in mechanical equipment and assembly over the next three years.

Nuclear and renewable energies

This upcoming increase in activity requires the company to be agile, particularly at the premises level. With more than 5,000 m 2 already well filled in the historic building (the former Constructions Soudées du Coteau), but also 1,700 m 2 with additional workshops just a stone’s throw away (on the Corgier site), Boccard once considered expanding its Costello site. An avenue which ultimately turns out to be impossible, forcing us to opt for an alternative solution: the rental of a 1,500 m building. 2 in the Jacquins activity zone, in Neulise. Several months of work are expected before production begins here at the end of the year. More than 500,000 euros will be invested in the opening of this workshop which will accommodate 25 to 30 employees entirely dedicated to the latest contract in question. “This will require a very high level of precision, in a very clean environment,” says Francisque Demeure. The Boccard du Coteau site specializes in the manufacture of tanks.

Furthermore, in the historic premises in Costello, developments have been launched following the partnership for the low-carbon hydrogen project in Normandy (Normand’Hy) this time. They are coming to an end. Enough to allow the activity to start very soon with Siemens Energy for which 14 people have been recruited. Currently, Boccard employs 90 employees in Roannais. The historic premises of the Costellois site.

“Boccard has very interesting prospects linked to the nuclear and renewable energy market, a promising sector for the next 50 years. Our objective is to strengthen our position in these areas, while continuing to develop our other markets,” summarizes Francisque Demeure, referring to the dynamics in cosmetics and pharmaceuticals. Boccard is in particular in exclusive discussions to acquire a leading international company in waste treatment.

Zoom on the group…
The French industrial contractor Boccard was created in 1918. It is today a major player in the design, construction and maintenance of industrial installations and operates in eight Life & Energy markets ranging from nuclear to new energy and agri-food to pharmacy. Present in 35 countries, it has 3,500 employees, including 1,500 in France. In 1986, Boccard bought the Costello site CSC (Construction Soudées du Coteau), a workshop which then completely reoriented its activity. Initially specializing in the wine sector and boilermaking, it subsequently developed in the chemical, cosmetics, nuclear, biotechnology and even energy industries by building increasingly more stainless steel tanks. more technical, whether storage or process.
