Last Saturday, the 39th Valencia International Film Festival – Cinema Jove awarded its Luna de Valencia Award in the official feature film section to Fly Ona film directed by the Japanese Takuya Katoan intimate drama about a woman who has just lost her lover in a traffic accident. an ethnographic docufiction with which Alberto Martín Menacho made his feature film debut (which had its world premiere at Visions du Réel and went on to San Sebastian Film Festival), has won the Luna de Valencia Award in the official Òrbites section, dedicated to new film languages. Jury members, Pau Berga, Sonia Martinez and Javier Moralhave chosen this film “for its original approach, both ethically and aesthetically, to the rural universe, displaying a profound knowledge of the reality and its specific problems”. by Jakob Rørvikwon the Luna de Valencia Award in the official series section, coinciding in its decision with that of the Youth Jury. The jury highlighted the originality of this audiovisual project, whose plot revolves around love relationships in virtual environments. In the series section, the other winners were non-European productions: the New Zealand After the Partythe Canadian The Meteoritesand the Argentinian The taste of silence (which received the Audience Award).

Finally, in the official short film section, the Luna de Valencia Award went to 8 (Eight)directed by the French Anaïs-Tohé Commaret. There was also a special mention for A Kind of Testamentby By Stephen Vuilleminand Lemon Treeby Rachel Waldenand the Audience Award went to A Peculiar Nightby Enzo Martinezwhile the Young Jury chose Provocative by Élia Llorente Estopañan.
