Ligue 2. FC Lorient

Régis Le Bris physically said goodbye to FC Lorient on Monday. His departure made official over the weekend, he stopped by to greet the club’s employees and empty his office at the Kerlir training center. This Wednesday, he flew to Sunderland, in the north-east of England, where he signed a three-year contract. For the moment, no member of his Lorient staff is expected to follow him, except his personal advisor Claude Fauquet. But the former National Technical Director (DTN) of French swimming (2001-08), very present last season at Kerlir, has never appeared in the club’s organization chart. However, the departure of Régis Le Bris, who worked for twelve years to structure the Lorient team, and the choice of Olivier Pantaloni to replace him, does not only make FC Lorient happy. Which explains why the name of Jocelyn Gourvennec, who was never one of President Loïc Féry’s first choices, came back insistently last week, pushed internally by those who saw in him a successor more in line with the DNA of the team and the history of the club.

Aziz Mady Mogne s’en va

Since the return to control of the right arm of President Arnaud Tanguy, dismissed a year ago and who regained his administrative and sporting prerogatives at the beginning of June, the closest collaborators of Régis Le Bris have been excluded from decisions concerning next season. It is Laurent Koscielny and Florian Delestrain who manage the transfer window. The departure of recruiter Aziz Mady Mogne, appointed coordinator of the sports project a year ago, was made official this Wednesday. Mental trainer Ingo Goetze and physical trainer Romaric Boch are also expected to leave the club. Discussions are underway for assistants Erwann Le Postec and Jean-Marie David, who could return to training to take charge of the reserve team and the U19s. The physical trainer Pierre Bazin and the goalkeeper coach Ronald Thomas should keep their place in the staff of Olivier Pantaloni, who will have as assistant Yannick Cahuzac, who arrived last winter to help Régis Le Bris, and who finally agreed to continue the adventure in Morbihan.

Arnaud Le Lan, training director?

His departure has not yet been made official, but Frédéric Bodineau is expected to resign from his position as director of the training center, as revealed by Ouest-France. Arriving three years ago as head of pre-training, this former executive of the French Football Federation took over from Régis Le Bris in 2022. Appreciated internally, he would not be on the same wavelength as the new direction. He should be replaced by former club player Arnaud Le Lan, who coached the reserve team last season. Vincent Gesbert, in charge of methodology within Régis Le Bris’ staff, could accompany him as an assistant.
