For their second participation, Ferme de la Métairie and La Fée Confiture did better than last year. On Saturday, these artisan jam makers based in Le Mans and Bonnétable came sixth and second respectively in the French jam championship. The Michelet Trophy took place in Eguzon-Chantôme, in Indre.
Last year, La Fée Confiture came in tenth. A last place, but already the pride of having been selected from a hundred candidates. This year, she climbs to the second step of the podium. What an honor, what a pleasure and what pride! How far we have come in 12 months!

La Fée confiture sources its products with French fruits, preferably local (from Sarthe and neighboring departments). Each year, the company offers around forty different flavors. It is present, on even weeks, at the markets: Friday in Le Mans (Jacobins), Saturday in Le Mans (Cité des Pins) and in La Ferté-Bernard and Sunday in Le Mans (Jacobins). In August 2023, during the honey and jam festival at the Arche de la Nature, it received first prize in the jam competition.

La Ferme de la Métairie, went from ninth place last year to sixth this year. The manager, Amélie Corvaisier, expressed her reaction on Facebook: Happy to have succeeded in the practical stage by making a good and beautiful peach jam while respecting the various rules of hygiene and cooking. Happy to have succeeded in the theoretical stage after a few hours of learning. Disappointed to have sent jars not worthy of a blind tasting. […] For the next ones [concours]I promise to take a breather first, so that I can leave with all my abilities and give myself every chance to excel.
