RN, Renaissance, LFI, LR, socialists, EEVL: how did the vote evolve between the 2019 and 2024 European elections by municipality in Haute-Vienne?

This Sunday, June 9, 2024, the National Rally came first in 190 municipalities in Haute-Vienne. How has the vote for this party, but also for Renaissance, LFI, LR, the Socialists or even Europe Écologie-Les Verts evolved between the 2019 and 2024 elections?

Which party gained or lost votes between the two European elections of 2019 and 2024?

On all maps the towns where the party concerned loses votes between the two elections are shown in red; in white, where the 2019 and 2024 results are identical; finally in green, where the party concerned gains votes.

The National Rally

In the department, the head of the National Rally list obtained 31.6% of the votes. In 33 municipalities in Haute-Vienne, the list led by Jordan Bardella even exceeds 40%. In detail, eight municipalities give it fewer votes than in 2019, one the same number and in all the others, the RN is progressing.

The socialists

In 2019, there were two lists: that of Raphaël Glucksmann and that of Benoît Hamon. We added the results of the two lists from 2019 to compare them to the score of the Glucksmann list in 2024.

In this year, 2024, the socialist list comes in second position with 17.12% of the votes cast. Nine municipalities in Haute-Vienne brought the same number of votes to the Socialists as in 2019. The PS vote is nevertheless progressing in most of Haute-Vienne since 153 municipalities gave them additional votes.

Renaissance

Having left with an independent list in 2019, the UDI decided at the end of March to join the presidential majority for the 2024 European elections by making a common list. We therefore logically added the votes obtained in 2019 by the UDI with those of the presidential majority, to establish our comparison.

For this 2024 election, the vote for the presidential majority is only progressing in six municipalities, four of which are by one vote. At the departmental level, Renaissance obtained 13.07% of the votes.

Insoumise France

In this year 2024, nine municipalities in Haute-Vienne have decided to bring the same vote to the list led by Manon Aubry as in 2019. This year, the rebellious vote is declining in 140 municipalities. At the departmental level, the Insoumis achieve a score of 8.18%.

The Republicans

Did François-Xavier Bellamy lose or gain votes in your municipality? With 6.24% of the votes, the right-wing party ranks between the Insoumis and EELV and loses almost two points compared to 2019. The party is only progressing in 49 municipalities and at most by 17 votes. It stagnates in Sussac, Grands-Chézeaux, La Chapelle-Montbrandeix and Beynac.

Europe Ecology-The Greens (EELV)

In Haute-Vienne, the list led by Marie Toussaint does not reach 5% of votes cast: only 4.38%. In five communes of Haute-Vienne, the candidate was even completely shunned by voters who did not give her a single vote. These are La Croix-sur-Gartempe, Dinsac, Mortemart, Saint-Hilaire-la-Treille and Videix.

Between 2019 and 2024, the environmentalist vote will only progress in the department in seven municipalities. It stagnates in Pensol and Saint-Georges-les-Landes.

Abstention

We end with abstention. At the departmental level, it amounts to 42.09%. 140 municipalities in Haute-Vienne mobilized more than in 2019 and voters in 55 municipalities avoided the polls more than the departmental average.

On the following map, we present the evolution of abstention between the 2019 and 2024 elections. Note that in Cussac, voters were equally mobilized for the two deadlines.
