Codepresso: Streamlining Talent Attraction and Acquisition

One of the biggest challenges many companies face is finding and retaining qualified information technology talent. South Korean startup Codepresso has a solution for this.

Founded in 2019, Codepresso counts Samsung Electronics, Hyundai and SK Telecom among its major clients. It specializes in attracting and acquiring tech talent, said Saebyuk Lee, head of global growth, and “streamlines every step of acquiring skilled tech talent, from start to finish.”

Four services

Codepresso offers four main services, Lee said. First, it provides companies with quantitative, project-based assessments that help test candidates applying for jobs. Second, Codepresso offers hands-on training to fill skills gaps. Third, the company also provides data-driven management.

Finally, it launched a cross-border IT recruitment platform. Once candidates pass the assessment, “they can showcase their skills on our platform,” Lee says. “Organizations and companies from all over the world can access our platform to easily find the most suitable candidates. But all of this is based on quantitative measures.”

Finalization of incorporation in Luxembourg

The company, which already has a team of about 35 people and a turnover of about $3 million, is going international. The South Korean startup has already incorporated in the United Kingdom and is “almost finished incorporating in Luxembourg,” Lee said. “We are just waiting for the last step, which will probably be completed in the next few days, and we will also incorporate in Japan.”

So what are Codepresso’s projects in the Grand Duchy?

Luxembourg will be Codepresso’s gateway to expand its market in Europe.

“Codepresso came to Luxembourg three years ago,” says Lee, where the company conducted market research and met with potential customers, the government and partners. The company then decided to set up shop here. “Everyone in Luxembourg – the government, companies, organisations – works as a team to help foreign companies operate here. Once we were incorporated here, they saw us as a Luxembourg company, not a foreign company, and they gave us full support.”

“From now on, we will find potential customers and partners to expand our market in Europe. Luxembourg will be Codepresso’s gateway to expand its market in Europe.”

Moreover, Codepresso’s solutions are not only aimed at technology companies, but can be useful to all companies that have software developers, whether small or large. “There is no limit to our target,” he added. The company can also contribute to digital transformation, for example, and offers training content specific to upskilling and reskilling traditional workers.

Codepresso was one of about 200 startups at the Nexus2050 event, and received – just hours after our interview – an award as the winner of the startup pitches during the seated dinner that closed the conference.
