Nearly 50 events are planned to celebrate this 15th anniversary of The Valley of the Saints in Carnoët, from Monday July 15 to Sunday July 21. “Conferences on different themes (the history of Carnoët, Paul-Antoine Fleuriot de Langle and La Vallée des Saints, geology, the legendary Breton Saints, sculptors, etc.), narrated walks, visits on the creation of sculptures monumental works by the apprentice sculptors Lola and Tristan, games with giant granite puzzles, two film projections on the big screen…”

Two masses are also scheduled at the Saint-Gildas chapelone on Saturday and the second on Sunday, organized by the Little Sisters of the Poor and dedicated to the 15th anniversary of the canonization of Sainte-Jeanne-Jugan who has her sculpture on the site.

Gwen-ha-Du giant and illuminations

If it is difficult to single out the highlights, as the week promises to be intense and festive, we can nevertheless mention the deployment of the biggest gwen-ha-du to the world, Monday July 15, to the sound of bagpipes and The Old Country of My Fathersperformed by Welsh singer Ffran May and bagad Kerhor.

The day of Saturday July 20 will also be special, since it will see many musicians perform and will end, after the Gwennyn concert, with an illumination of the site, “entrusted to the Spectaculaires company which has already carried it out at the occasion of St. Patrick’s Day.
