The Sentry Tournament, played in Kapalua, remains under the control of Hideki Matsuyama after the third round. The Japanese continues to impress with remarkable consistency, this time returning a card of 62 (-11). The Nippon signed only one bogey this week for 26 birdies and an eagle.
With a total of -27, Matsuyama dominates the leaderboard, followed by Collin Morikawa, at -26. The American is in good form this week and has been keeping up with the frenetic pace of his Japanese opponent since the first round. They will be associated in the last part this Sunday.
Sungjae Im also moves closer to the leading duo with the co-best card of the day, shared with Morikawa and Matsuyama. The South Korean achieved a phenomenal card of 62 (-11), signing 11 birdies without the slightest error. Thanks to this score, he climbed nine places to return to fourth. It is the Belgian Thomas Detry who completes the podium with his total of -22.
