Want a little shopping getaway on New Year's Day? Even on this day Wednesday January 1, 2025certain businesses in Le Havre (Seine-Maritime) remain open to meet your needs.

Whether you have forgotten an essential ingredient for the meal or want to stroll around the city center, several local brands and businesses welcome you that day.

Here is a selection of these places

What is open

• Cinema

In Montivilliers, the les Arts cinema is exceptionally open “from 4:00 p.m. this Wednesday”, indicates the management.

If you want to enjoy a screening, in Le Havre, the Pathé cinema at Docks Vauban is open, as is Le Sirius.

• Stores

Some Carrefour stores will be open on January 1st. This is the case on Rue Irène Joliot-Curie (from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.) and rue Anatole-France (from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.).

Convenience stores, like Spar, can sometimes be open, such as the one located on Place Maurice-Blanc in Le Havre (from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.). Please note, those located on rue de Verdun and in Montivilliers are closed.

Apart from food, certain artisans, such as florists, like Fleurs de Lotus, rue Joseph Madec (from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.), or L'Atelier Floral Coty (from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.), are sometimes open, at Haven. Don't hesitate to open their doors if you are in the neighborhood.

• Christmas entertainment

The Big Wheel and Santa's sleigh are open this Wednesday, January 1 from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., the Carrousel is also open from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. You can also admire the characters of the Great North for free through the animated exhibition at the Town Hall, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.

• Restaurants

Except on holidays, many restaurants also welcome you on this public holiday. This is particularly the case at the Bistrot Parisien. Remember to call to check available places.
