Panique au 31, a TV film in which you play “the psychorigid banker”, recounts an evening on December 31 at the Pacha Club, a bankrupt provincial nightclub… Could you tell us more?
Isabelle Nanty. As a banker, I find that the money is not coming in enough and I threaten to raze the Pacha Club to turn it into a parking lot. They beg me to give them New Year's Eve on the 31st, for one last evening. Under pressure from the city's residents, I grant this delay. From then on, Arnaud, the heir of this nightclub, played by Arnaud Ducret, and his right-hand man, Tom, played by Tom Villa, will do everything to save the establishment.
“What surprised me was that so many of us participated in it”: Isabelle Nanty against employment in Panic at 31
If I tell you that Panique au 31 is a big joke with a crazy cast, whose only claim is to end the year with a smile, am I right?
Quite. I saw the film and had a good laugh. What surprised me was that so many of us participated. I filmed for two days and therefore discovered the work of others. Notably Maxime Gasteuil, who I found brilliant with his character from “Delivre Relou”! There is Corinne Masiero, Michèle Bernier, Jeff Panacloc and so many others: in short, beautiful linen! Arnaud Ducret and Tom Villa are people who unite enormously. They have the pleasure of doing things together. Arnaud is always creating and inviting others into his delirium. What a joy to work with him!
Speaking of crazy parties, have you frequented the Parisian nightlife?
I will disappoint you. Little 1, I'm allergic to alcohol, I try to get drunk, it's kind of our job, but there comes a time when I have to leave the party, because I'm too out of touch . Little 2, I was brought up to be obsessed with boxes. My godfather's daughter died in a fire in a nightclub, 5-7, in Saint-Laurent-du-Pont (in Isère, editor's note), a big news story from the 70s. I was little , and the stories left an impression on me. When I was old enough to go clubbing, my parents made such a face! I've been there twice in my life, but always stuck to the emergency exits: there's a more fun atmosphere! So I never went to Parisian parties. It seems to me that I missed something!
