Favorites

Title holder, Spaniard Carlos Sainz is one of the favorites to take over with Nasser Al-Attiyah. Five-time winner of the event, the Qatari will inevitably be revengeful after his retirement last year. For his 9th participation, Sébastien Loeb, who has experienced several misadventures, will try to achieve his first success. In the motorcycles, Ricky Brabec, winner last year, is obviously among the contenders with Ross Branch and Daniel Sanders.

Gains

The winner of the general classification of the car category will not receive any money for his victory. He and his co-driver will only receive a bronze trophy representing a Touareg and weighing nine kilos. On the other hand, the winner of the motorcycle category will receive the sum of 50,000 euros compared to 25,000 euros for his runner-up and 15,000 euros for 3rd. The winners among women and rookies, in cars and motorcycles, will receive 3,000 euros.
