Our tests of the week

Dell XPS 16: a 16-inch perfect for creatives

Dell offers here a 16-inch PC which combines controlled heating and excellent creative performance, thanks to its powerful graphics card. We love its magnificent Dell Plus chassis and its superb optimized OLED screen. Be careful, however, the connectivity is limited and the starting price of this new ultra-portable is not suitable for all budgets, since it is 1999 euros.

Surface Laptop 2024: undeniable qualities but too high a price

If you’re looking for a new PC and battery life is your priority, the Surface Laptop 2024 might catch your attention. During our test, we were also won over by its excellent heat and noise management, its very successful visuals and its beautiful, bright and well-calibrated screen. Unfortunately, there are also major defects and a very high price. Among the weak points, we note a mediocre keyboard and trackpad, an audio part that can be largely improved and disappointing performance.

Porsche Taycan 2025: serious competition for the 1,000 horsepower Tesla Model S

Regardless of the model chosen, the new Porsche Taycan impresses with its impeccable design, performance, range, charging power and on-board technologies. We also love the Porsche Active Ride technology. Small downsides are that the trunk is a little small and the many options quickly inflate the price. That being said, it is one of the best electric sports cars currently available on the market.

Peugeot e-5008: reasonable fuel consumption for a seven-seater SUV

Peugeot offers here a spacious and comfortable SUV with a nice look that will seduce you thanks to its neat presentation and its modularity. A big strong point, the Peugeot e-5008 displays a surprisingly reasonable consumption for a seven-seater. Note however that the third row will not be very comfortable for adults and that the induction charger is not very efficient.

Backbone One 2nd Gen: still very good value for money

Putting aside the almost mandatory subscription for iPhone gamers, the limited usefulness of the Hub, and the annoying accumulation of promotional content in the Hub, the Backbone 2nd gen remains a good value controller, usable with a tablet or PC, and equipped with very clever magnetic adapters. We appreciate the presence of a 3.5 mm jack port that allows you to enjoy the soundtrack of games without latency.
