Zapping Fifteen World 6 Nations Calendar 2024

Many senior executives and experienced players from Stade Toulousain spoke after this French championship title, but now, it’s time for the youngsters. And particularly for a youngster, who really revealed himself during this exercise, with his club: Paul Costes.

The young center already experienced great happiness last summer by being crowned world champion with the French Under-20 team, but there, with a Champions Cup title and a Top 14 title, he remains on very, very good foundations. Questioned by Canal +, Paul Costes, with a speech full of freshness and simplicity, is well aware of how lucky he is.

It’s hard to realise because there was the European Cup title, now there’s a Top 14 title with the added style (…) I consider myself very happy and very very lucky. I don’t think it will be like this my whole career but I’m trying to savour it as much as possible.

The son’s dig at the father

After the Champions Cup title, Alexandre Roumat teased his father, Olivier, who never had the chance to win a European title. And on Friday night, we stayed in the same spirit of teasing with Paul Costes who teased his father, Arnaud Costes (present at the Vélodrome by the way), who won neither the championship nor the big European cup. A feat that his son achieved, at only 21 years old. It was well worth a nice little dig.

That’s twice as many reasons for my father to get closer to jealousy (smile), but he’ll be happy. It happened very quickly. I will consider myself happy and above all gain others.

To sum up

Many senior executives and experienced players from Stade Toulousain spoke after this French championship title, but now, let’s talk about the youngsters a little bit. And especially about a youngster, who really revealed himself during this exercise, with his club: Paul Costes. What a great season for him, so great that it gives him the opportunity to tease his father.
