Real Madrid announced last week the long-awaited arrival of Kylian Mbappé. But the Spanish champion is far from satisfied. Behind the scenes, work is in full swing for another high-profile acquisition in summer 2025.
Once again, the Madrilenians can boast of having had an excellent season. The club was crowned champion of Spain for the 36th time. And on Saturday, the icing on the cake was placed at Wembley with a 2-0 victory against Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League final.
Dominate Europe
But the club is not resting on its laurels. This week, Mbappé’s free transfer was finalized. The Frenchman has signed a long-term contract until mid-2029 and is expected to spearhead the attack in the coming seasons. In the meantime, work on the next acquisition is underway.
Nugget worth 150 million euros
Real has its sights set on Florian Wirtz. The young Almemand is currently the big mover for the impressive Bayer Leverkusen. He will normally remain loyal to the German champion this summer, but a change of scenery is expected after next season.
According to Marca, Real have been working on the file behind the scenes for months. There would even be talk of a “pact” between the club and the player/and his entourage. But we are still far from a definitive breakthrough. Leverkusen would demand up to 150 million euros.
