The “purged” of La France insoumise on more or less favorable ballot
A historic figure of La France Insoumise (LFI) but not invested in her quota in the New Popular Front (NFP), Danielle Simonnet came out on top by a wide margin, with 41.87% in the 15th constituency of Paris, where she is an outgoing MP. The official candidate of the NFP, trade unionist Céline Verzeletti, came in far behind with 22.87%.
Former close friend of Jean-Luc Mélenchon who has also fallen into disgrace, LFI deputy since 2017, Alexis Corbière came out on top in the 7the constituency of Seine-Saint-Denis with 40.19%, ahead of the candidate “rebellious” NFP official Sabrina Ali-Benali, who won 36.4% of the vote.
His partner, Raquel Garrido, a rebellious outgoing MP, on the other hand, only collected 23.65% of the votes in her constituency of Seine-Saint-Denis, ahead of Aly Diouara, official NFP candidate at 33.10%. The UDI mayor of Drancy, Aude Lagarde, who came second with a score of 24.56%, would have a card to play in the event of a triangular vote thanks to a reserve of votes on the right.
In Marseille, the division of “rebellious” benefited the National Rally (RN) in the 5th constituency of Bouches-du-Rhône where the far-right candidate, Franck Liquori, came in first with 25.77% of the votes. Behind him, the two candidates claiming to be from the NFP are neck and neck, with only 565 votes difference: Hendrik Davi, the LFI dissident, obtains 24.44% of the votes, while Allan Popelard, who received the official investiture, garnering 23.32% of the votes.
