A few days before the release of his documentary, I am: Celine Dionthe singer continues to open up about the effects of stiff person syndrome.
The star revealed in 2022 that she suffered from this rare autoimmune neurological disorder which causes muscle stiffness and painful spasms.

Fortunately, she can count on the support of her three children in the event of crises, as she recently confided to the American channel NBC.
Céline Dion has in fact prepared her three sons, René-Charles, 23 years old, and the twins Nelson and Eddy, 13 years old, to come to her aid if necessary.
“We have alarm buttons in the house and they know how to pull me to the side,” she explained. “My goal in telling them and showing them what to do was not to scare them. It’s so they know that I’m their mother and that it’s my responsibility.”
Her eldest son even proved his loyalty and commitment to her by taking the lead on his mother’s reactions.
“He told me, ‘I’m going to walk with you, and then I’m going to go back a little. I’ll be behind you. Whenever you need it, you just have to look at me or even move your hand. I will come closer and you can hold on to me.”

The singer clarified that she still sought to reassure her children who already lost their father, René Angelil, in 2016 to cancer.
“At one point I could barely walk and I really missed life,” she recalled. “My children started to notice it. I let them know, ‘You lost your dad, but mom has an illness and it’s different. I’m not going to die. This is something I’m going to learn to live with.'”
I am: Celine Dion will be released on Prime Video on June 25.
