Under the effective presidency of the President of the Republic, Bassirou Diomaye Faye, the 8th edition of the national day “Setal sunu Reew” took place at the Comico city, located in Yeumbeul Nord. Alongside citizens, the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) marked this day of human investment with their presence in order to work in synergy for a healthier living environment.
The 8th edition of the national “Setal sunu reew” day, chaired by the Head of State, Bassirou Diomaye Faye, was held on Saturday in Yeumbeul Nord. This day of citizen mobilization, coinciding with the start of the new year, was placed under the theme “Setal sa gokh, aar sa yaram”: alongside citizens, the armed forces are committed. To this end, the Head of State warmly thanked the national army which is committed to working not only for a clean Senegal, but also, through the concept of “Army-Nation”, carries out donation activities. blood, support to populations in the areas of education, health, among others.
In addition to administrative authorities, local elected officials and the populations of Yeumbeul, the activity saw the participation of state authorities including the Minister of the Armed Forces, General Birame Diop. In his speech, President Bassirou Diomaye Faye called on people to perpetuate this beneficial activity of self-giving. “Health begins first with good environmental management. She is at the beginning and the end of everything. There is no health in an unhealthy environment, because a healthy mind only evolves in a healthy body which, itself, must develop in a healthy environment,” said the President of the Republic. According to the president, the challenge remains sustainability, beyond his tenure as head of state.
“We must continue these activities throughout our mandate and beyond. Those who take up the baton will be able to continue this momentum so that we definitively inscribe in our DNA the instinct to make things clean, but above all, that of not dirtying. We are all required to permanently make the gift of self for the homeland to better form a nation and to better form a people,” suggested the fifth President of the Republic. The head of state strongly encouraged the Senegalese to participate massively in the national competition rewarding the cleanest neighborhoods. According to him, this initiative aims to promote sustainable practices for a healthier and more pleasant Senegal to live in.
