animated cinema is doing wonderfully in Bourg-lès-Valence

Drôme animated cinema could win the laurels in 2025. And not just any laurels. Among the most prestigious. Located at Bourg-lès-Valence (Drome), the Cartoucherie (Animated image center), 3rd animated film production center in Francesaw several of its selected or pre-selected filmsat the start of the year, a festival, to the Caesars and even as far as Hollywood for the Oscars ! Yet another proof that this sector of excellence in the department is doing wonderfully.

1- Clermont-Ferrand Short Film Festival

The 47th Clermont-Ferrand Short Film Festival will take place from January 31au February 8 . Of the 14 short films animation in national competition, five are supported by the animation film school The Powder Magazine located at the Cartoucherie, including three in between which were produced and/or carried out at the Pole:

• Between the daysgraduation film by Martin Bonnin;
• Yuck! by Loïc Espuche, an Ikki Films & Iliade & Films production, partly produced by Les Astronautes, supported by the Support Fund for animated works of Valence Romans Agglo and the Department of Drômein 2020;
• Kaminhu by Marie Vieillevie, directed and produced by Les Astronautes, Papy3D production;
• My own footballer by Cheyenne Canaud-Wallays, produced by Caïmans Productions;
• Sweeter is the night by Fabienne Wagenaar, produced by JPL Films.

2- Official selection of animated short film César 2025

Of the 12 films selectedthree are carried by La Poudrière:

• Yuck! of Loïc Espuche ;
• Kaminhu by Marie Vieillevie;
• Sweeter is the night the Fabienne Wagenaar.

3- Direction Hollywood: the 2025 Oscars

The 97th Academy Awards will take place in Los Angeles on March 2, 2025.

Are preselected in the category animated feature film :

• Sirocco and the Kingdom of drafts by Benoît Chieux, produced by Sacrebleu Productions, produced by Les Astronautes;
• Linda wants chicken! by Chiara Malta and Sébastien Laudenbach, produced by Miyu Productions.

Are preselected in the animated short film category:

• Beautiful Menan Animal Tank production, Ka-Ching Cartoons & Miyu Productions, directed by Nicolas Keppens;
• Yuck!: Iliad & Films, The Astronauts.
