Bankrupt, the Nord‐Pas de Calais Chamber of Agriculture will change president

Elections for members of the interdepartmental chamber of agriculture of -Pas de are being held until January 31. Weakened by the very degraded financial situation of the institution he has chaired since 2019, Christian Durlin is not a candidate for succession.

In 2025, a new team will have the difficult task of absorbing the abysmal deficit of the Nord‐Pas de Calais Chamber of Agriculture. After the dismissal of general director Tony Alvès‐Jorge at the end of the year, it is the president of the institution since 2019, Christian Durlin, who will leave his place.

As Mediacités noted, he is in fact not present on the FDSEA/Young Farmers candidate alliance list for the elections which are being held until January 31. The head of the list and favorite to win is David Meurillon, president of the FDSEA du Nord since June. The man who runs a vegetable farm in Verlinghem (in the MEL) had previously been its general secretary, as reported by the specialized media Terre et Territories.
