A driver hit two people in Vannes (Morbihan) on the morning of Friday January 3, 2025. Two young men are seriously injured. The driver was taken into custody. Here's what we know a few hours after the fact.
What happened?
At around 6:30 a.m., the driver of an Opel Agila attempted to hitting three pedestrians on the sidewalkat the Racker roundabout. The wheel tracks help us understand the scene: the car crossed a grassy median to hit the pedestrians who were walking on the sidewalk near the cycle path.
A Kicéo bus driver quickly arrived on the scene. The firefighters are notified.
Who is the driver of the vehicle?
The accused is detained by the bus driver before the police arrived. He is a young man of 22 years old. A native of Angers, he has no fixed address.

Where is the investigation?
Criminal identification went to the scene to determine the circumstances of this act.
Placed in a sobering up cell due to his heavy alcohol intake, the accused had not yet been heard on Friday January 3 at the end of the afternoon. “Hearings are underway. Witnesses have not yet been heard,” communicated a police source late in the afternoon.
Proceedings have been opened for attempted murder.

Firefighters were mobilized to the scene. Two of the three pedestrians are seriously injured. The victims are from Vannes.
Polytraumatized, the 21-year-old adult was transferred to Pontchaillou Hospital (CHU) in Rennes. Her pronostic vital is engaged.
The 16-year-old minor is hospitalized in Vannes. Shocked, the third victim, also aged 16, was also taken care of by the firefighters and transported to Vannes.
