At the end of December 2024, all of the producing wells at the Sangomar oil site were commissioned, marking a key milestone in the development of this important oil zone. This strategic project, located off the coast of the Casamance region, now has all its wells ready to be connected to production lines, as part of a meticulously designed optimization plan to maximize crude oil extraction .
With this full connection, daily crude oil production is now capable of reaching a capacity of 100,000 barrels per day, ensuring optimal profitability for years to come. The month of December 2024 was particularly productive, with a total production of 2.96 million barrels, illustrating the efficiency of the extraction and well management processes on the site.
At the same time, the Sangomar site also made three shipments to the international market. These cargoes represented a total of 2.94 million barrels shipped, contributing to the solid revenue generated by this project.
In terms of annual performance, Sangomar far exceeded its production objectives for the year 2024. In fact, total production reached approximately 16.9 million barrels, surpassing the initial objective of 11.7 million barrels. This remarkable result demonstrates the efficiency of production operations and resource management, as well as the solid infrastructure put in place to ensure the success of this flagship project.
This exceeding of objectives also confirms Sangomar’s strategic position in the global oil sector and underlines the competence of the teams responsible for operations. With such positive results, the site appears well on its way to continuing to play a key role in the supply of crude oil to the international market, while contributing to the economic development of the region.
