Ultrahuman launches Rare, a super luxurious connected ring

Ultrahuman unveiled its new connected ring, Rare, during CES 2025. Part of the Desert collection, the Rare connected ring is a high-end version of the Ring and Ring Air models, designed with precious materials such as 18-karat gold and platinum, while retaining advanced health tracking features.

Ultrahuman plans to launch the Rare connected ring in

The Rare smart ring was first launched last year as part of a collaboration with Indian jewelry brand Jewelex. Now, the Desert Collection expands the range with three finishes: Desert Rose, Dune and Desert Snow. Desert Rose and Dune are made from 18k rose gold and 18k yellow gold, respectively, while Desert Snow is made from 95% PT950 platinum.

All three finishes feature a polished and brushed texture. The Rare’s band has a flatter profile than the slightly concave design of the lighter Ring Air. Its tapered sides make the ring look thicker and more luxurious. It’s unclear exactly how much the Rare ring weighs.

The Rare connected ring integrates the same biometric and movement sensors as the Ring Air. These sensors provide comprehensive tracking of heart rate, heart rate variability (HRV), sleep quality, stress levels and skin temperature.

When it comes to fitness, the ring helps count steps and track calories. Furthermore, it can be integrated into Ultrahuman’s M1 system (test) for real-time blood sugar monitoring via the Ultrahuman mobile application.

Ultrahuman has not yet revealed details about the Rare ring’s battery life. The Ring Air offers up to six days of use on a single charge, depending on ring size. The Ultrahuman Rare is expected to offer similar performance. It’s unclear whether the smart ring will benefit from the same 100-meter water resistance as the Ring Air.

Ultrahuman plans to officially launch the Rare connected ring in Paris and London, but details regarding pricing and availability are not yet known. For reference, the Ring Air is currently available for $372 in most markets, suggesting that the Rare’s premium materials will command a higher price.
