Even though he identifies as a woman, the author of the triple murder in Brossard, Mohamad Al Ballouz, is currently detained in a federal penitentiary for men, we have learned TVA News.

It is unclear, however, whether Mohamad Al Ballouz will remain in this same penitentiary to serve his entire life sentence.
At the end of December, a judge denounced the “acts of cruelty” of the father, described as “narcissist” and “sadist”, who killed his two children and his wife, by sentencing him to prison in life.
Throughout his trial, Ballouz identified himself as a woman, Levana Ballouz, and was detained in a women’s prison, the Leclerc detention center, in Laval.
It was finally to a federal penitentiary for men that Mohamad Al Ballouz was transferred after receiving his sentence.
Correctional Service Canada confirmed the information to TVA NewsTuesday, specifying that Al Ballouz underwent an initial assessment which aims to ensure that all offenders, including people of diverse gender identities, are in an environment that meets their needs.
Under the Privacy Act, Correctional Service of Canada refuses to reveal the murderer’s place of incarceration.
