After the Pink October solidarity action, it is the tourist influence of Saint-Philbert of Grand Lieu in which members of theassociation Les Rétros du lac. These enthusiasts of old vehicles contributed to obtaining the “city welcoming vintage vehicles” label awarded by the French Federation of Vintage Vehicles (FFVE).

“We are reassured by the fact that the city has great associative dynamism,” remarked the mayor, Stephan Beaugé, during this rather special general assembly of the Rétros du lac.

After La Baule and Pornic, the third city in the Pays de Retz (demographically speaking) becomes the third city in -Atlantique to be labeled. “You have dedicated parking lots to welcome Rétros du Lac members and their friends,” said a delighted Gilbert Marchiniregional president of the FFVE. 175 French cities received this distinction this year.

To concretely mark this award, the fruit of the work of the local association, two signs “City welcoming vintage vehicles” will be affixed to two entrances to the city.

The FFVE launched this program in 2023 with the aim of distinguishing and raising awareness of communities engaged in a tourism development process, sympathetically integrating activities dedicated to vintage vehicles.

They “are part of the industrial heritage”

As Gilbert Marchini, the regional representative, mentioned, “collector vehicles are part of the industrial heritage and are not intended to remain in museums”.

The deputy Jean-Michel Brardpresent at the ceremony and himself “the owner of a traction vehicle for 36 years”, relayed the actions of the FFVE in favor of the collector's registration document in order to “move more freely”.

ZFE, sensitive subject

The MP for the constituency also showed his desire to moderate the migration towards all-electric vehicles while “the owners of classic cars only travel a few hundred kilometers per year”.

The establishment of ZFE (low emission zones) was highlighted as a sensitive subject to be negotiated with each large urban area concerned to allow these thermal vehicles to “obtain exemptions”.
