Cocorico, French films particularly stood out. According to the CNC (National Center for Cinema and Animated Images), the market share of French productions reached 44.4%, unheard of since 2008, the year of Welcome to the Ch'tis et Asterix at the Olympic Games.
The top 10 is also dominated by two French films. The bulldozer A little something extra d'Artus is in the lead, with 10.31 million entries. Already placing itself in the top 10 most viewed French films of all time, it can also boast of being the highest score for a first French film since Emmanuelle in 1974 (8.89 million entries). Artus will have succeeded in outdoing the intrepid Comte de Monte Cristo and its 9.13 million spectators. The only other local film in the ranking comes in fifth place: Love phew by Gilles Lellouche attracted 4.73 million spectators.

If American productions of questionable quality (Gladiator II, Deadpool & Wolverine) are doing well, French cinema has demonstrated its eclecticism and its ability to attract the public.

By accumulating more than 80 million spectators (including almost 25 million for the three films mentioned above), France has also largely mobilized an audience for more confidential or demanding offerings, such as Mr Aznavour (2 millions), A fanfare (1.5 million), or Emilia Perez (1 million), with more or less unexpected success. Louise Violet (600 000 entrées), Souleymane's story (500,000) or Twenty Gods! (400,000) also proved that French cinema could (if there was any doubt) seduce spectators without needing to deny itself.
