DECRYPTION – China is working hard to develop a reliable aircraft in order to end its dependence on Western planes, and thus offer an alternative to airlines.

No suspense at the end of the traditional annual match between Airbus and Boeing. For the 2024 financial year, the European aeronautics giant is guaranteed to retain its world crown, for the sixth consecutive year, facing an American adversary weakened after a seven-week strike this fall and an industrial crisis, of which it is not out yet.

With 643 aircraft delivered and 742 net orders signed at the end of November 2024, Airbus has taken a lead that Boeing (318 deliveries, 427 orders) cannot fill. The two manufacturers have not yet published their annual results, but the game is over. The only question that agitates the aeronautical landerneau: will Airbus have succeeded in achieving its delivery objective of 770 aircraft (revised downwards compared to the 800 aircraft initially planned) in 2024?
