Are you looking for a place in a micro-crèche near Agay? Hurry up, Les P’tits Mômes, a structure managed by Sophie Sajat and Marjorie Legaz, which has a second establishment near Puget-sur-Argens, is not far from being packed for the next school year ( the two structures respectively offer twelve places each).

On the other hand, the professional childcare worker, who has a toy library (Les Cabanes des P’tits Mômes) next to the premises of her private nursery, within the Cap Estérel holiday complex, near Agay in Saint-Raphaël, is regularly called upon to exchange with childminders from the Cité de l’Archange. And it is an understatement to say that the latter, at the start of the summer period, are struggling to find toddlers for next September. “We decided to organize a speed dating session yesterday, with the aim of bringing together parents who are looking for a childminder but also professionals who are looking for children to look after, explains Sophie Sajat, supported in this mission by Jessica Bayles, facilitator within the games library. The toy library is very frequented on a daily basis by childminders because there is no Relais for them in Saint-Raphaël. They are often alone at home, with the children they look after. Whereas, precisely, a Relay is a place where they can meet to exchange but also meet possible future parents who are looking for childcare for their offspring.”

New speed dating in September

Due to lack of visibility, few dads and/or moms made the trip yesterday, to the great dismay of nannies looking for new cherubs to pamper.

Guylène Hoarau and Pascale Dupuis, two childminders who came especially for the occasion from the Aspé area, where they live and work, hope that other meetings of this type will be more frequent in the future: “We have a bit of trouble finding children. We often have three or four approvals and it’s not easy, especially when we’re a bit out of the city centre like we are. These speed dating events are an opportunity to meet up in real life and see if there’s a connection between the parents and their children. And if that’s the case, we can possibly meet up at our homes. We’re clearly missing a Relais in Saint-Raphaël. A few years ago, a merger with the one in Fréjus was discussed but it never happened. And, except to ask for information, we don’t have access to the Fréjus structure. It’s a shame. We feel a bit helpless. We expected a lot from this speed dating event. The idea is great, for us who are a bit isolated.”

That’s good timing: Sophie Sajat and Jessica Bayles have decided to organize a new session on September 7, again between 9:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m., in the premises of the games library, Place des Pêcheurs, in the Cap Estérel holiday village, which is located near Agay.
