In Deux-Sèvres, 4,603 middle school students are taking the brevet exam, the tests for which began on Monday 1is July 2024: 3,919 in the general series and 684 in the professional series. In the entire Poitiers academy, 21,407 candidates are registered, including 18,559 in the general series and 2,848 in the professional series. This is 469 fewer than in 2023, a sign of the decline in numbers.

The tests started this Monday 1is July by French and mathematics. This Tuesday, July 2, history-geography, moral and civic education are on the program for the morning, with physics and chemistry scheduled for the afternoon.

The national patent diploma is the first important exam during schooling. Normally, it is done to verify that a base of knowledge has been acquired by the time compulsory education ends, at the end of secondary school. It is estimated on 800 points.

Results July 11

Half, 400 points, are awarded when the common knowledge base is assessed during the third term class council in the third grade. The other 400 points, awarded during the exams, are distributed according to the subjects: 100 for French, 100 for mathematics, 50 for history-geography, moral and civic education, 50 for sciences and 100 for oral test.

The results will be published on Thursday, July 11, from 5 p.m. In 2023, the overall success rate reached 89%, in the academy as well as at the national level. It was 91.4% in the general series and 74.1% in the professional series.
