The rugby players of the Pink City celebrated the 23rd Brennus shield in their history, won in the final against Bordeaux-Bègles on Friday June 28 in Marseille, after a one-sided encounter (59-3)

Big performance, big party! This Friday, June 28 in the evening, at the Vélodrome stadium in Marseille, the Stade Toulousain rugby players won the 23rd French championship title in their history, by largely dominating Bordeaux-Bègles in the final (59-3).

A success of historic magnitude in the Top 14 final, and a new shield from Brennus which is added to the Champions Cup trophy, also won this season, for a new Toulouse double after 1996 and 2021.

As soon as the shield was presented, Antoine Dupont and his teammates celebrated this new trophy communing with their loved ones, at the edge of the pitch at the Vélodrome stadium. The following hours were for the month festive.

Head to the locker room, shield in hand. There, the people of Toulouse turned on the music, joining in in particular with the sound of “Balada”, by the Brazilian artist Gusttavo Lima. It was also in this more restricted and intimate setting that they performed the traditional ventriglisse on the Shield.

President Didier Lacroix and Peato Mauvaka succumbed to the temptation of a cigar, posing next to the Shield and announcing, at the same time on social networks, the extension until 2029 of the Caledonian.

Most of the players, as is often the case on such occasions, wore ski goggles to protect their eyes from the acid splashes of beer.

Around the same time, several other players were a few meters away, in the press room at the Vélodrome stadium, speaking to journalists. It was at this moment that, in particular, Julien Marchand and Thomas Ramos (in underwear) arrived to spray their teammates as well as the audience.
