This weekend of June 29 and 30, 2024, the Lorient Océans maritime festival awaits its visitors at the city’s fishing port.
From a ride on an old rig to concerts and water games, “There’s something for everyone”assures Olivier Sévère, organizer of the event.
Board and visit the boats
Saturday and Sunday, at 10 a.m., upon presentation of the Sloop (access pass at €8), embark on an old sailing ship and visit the harbor of Lorient from the sea.
Different boats will leave from either side of the harbor: the Doe from the village of the fishing port, the André-Yvette from Sainte-Catherine, to Locmiquélic and the Skew from the Port de la Pointe, in Port-Louis.
Other boat tours (Star of the King, Corentin, Our Lady of Rumengol et Saint Mary Manuela ) take place at the quayside.
On Sunday, from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., the boats will gather in the harbor for the grand parade.
Water activities
From 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., all weekend, various introductions to water sports are offered free of charge. Every hour, a canoe rowing experience is offered at Quai du Why-Pas. Continuous skiing with a skimboard pool in the entertainment village. Introductions to kayaking, paddleboarding and dinghy sailing are possible upon presentation of the Sloop.
Finally, to gain a little height, two maritime climbing activities (sailing and mast climbing) are offered.
Under the tents, small activities and initiations such as nautical knot lessons await young and old.
Concerts
Throughout the weekend, musicians take turns on the village stage. From bagad to jazz, including the brass band and the DJ set, musical variety is guaranteed.
On Saturday, from 7:45 p.m. to 10 p.m., the concert by French singer Louane will take place in the ship repair area.
Sunday, from 6 p.m., an Arvest fest-foz closes the Lorient Océans festival.
