Plots along the A6 targeted to develop the future major transit area of Auxerrois

While the problem of the absence of a major traffic area in Auxerrois is highlighted with each new illegal installation, the file is moving forward behind the scenes. Plots have been identified in Venoy, along the highway. Information confirmed this Thursday, June 27 in the urban council.

A “first step” has been taken in the thorny issue of the Auxerrois large transit area. Several plots of land along the A6 in Venoy have been identified as being able to accommodate the future facility, which has been lacking in the Agglomeration for more than twenty years. This Thursday, June 27, 2024, the community council unanimously agreed to entrust Safer with carrying out a study with a view to acquiring the land.

At this stage, elected officials want to appear “cautious”. “We are moving forward, we are trying to build something, but there is no point in announcing something that may not happen,” said President Crescent Marault (DVD), without failing to point out that several projects announced by the previous team were not completed.

More than “80 areas studied”

Opposition MP Mani Cambefort (PS) asked how many people could be accommodated in this area and if the equipment would be connected to businesses. Christophe Bonnefond (LR), vice-president and mayor of Venoy, indicated that the area would have a capacity of around “200 caravans”. “It is isolated from any commerce, but since 2020 we have been actively working on this subject, we have studied more than 80 plots of land. In our specifications, the priority was that it be isolated, far from homes, without any caravans passes in front of the inhabitants when they arrive So obviously, we are not in front of a business”, pointed out Christophe Bonnefond.

Maud Navarre, an opposition MP from Auxerre, asked if contacts have already been established with the owners of the plots. “Safer will be responsible for the negotiations,” continued the vice-president. “We might think that this is not the best agricultural area that exists in the sector,” he concluded.
